IUD Clinics

Our clinic is offering dedicated IUD clinics each month with the goal of improving patient access to this very reliable and safe method of contraception.

Our patient information handout contains answers to many of the most frequently asked questions patients have about IUD types and the insertion process.

We are accepting referral for both IUD counselling and insertions. The most efficient process for patients is to decide on which IUD they would like with their GP and get a prescription for it. They can then fill the prescription and bring their IUD for insertion at their appointment. If they have more questions or are undecided about their IUD we are happy to discuss their options with them further and book them for an insertion at a later date.

We generally prefer the progestin containing IUDs, but for patients who have a preference or medical indication for copper IUDs we find the insertion device for the Mona Lisa brand IUDs to be most well tolerated. This IUD is also inexpensive and you can get a 3, 5 or 10 year device.

Please ask your family doctor to clearly label referrals as FOR IUD CLINIC

MASKS

Masks are mandatory to wear upon entering Sereno Wellness & Spa.

This is for your protection and the protection of our staff, We have non-medical for purchase for $2. If you are in need of a disposable mask, please call us when outside the facility and we can bring you one at the door.

SANITATION AND DISINFECTING

The treatment rooms will be sanitized and disinfected before and after each patient. Our staff will wear protective gear at all times.

SOCIAL DISTANCIMG

Patients will enter the facility at the time of their appointment. We ask that you arrive alone and n 5 minutes before your appointment for screening. Please follow the directional signage.

PLEXI GLASS BARRIES

Plexiglass barriers have been installed in our reception area where the required distancing cannot be maintained.

PRE-SCREENING

All patients will be pre-screened by questionnaire at the time of booking as well as upon arrival of the appointment for symptoms of COVID-19 upon entering the facility and temperature taken and recorded. This is non-negotiable. If your temperature exceeds 38 degrees your appointment will be rescheduled and you will be guided to a designated screening center.

Staff will also be monitored twice daily.

Patients who have travelled outside of BC in the past 14 days are asked not to book.

HAND WASHING and SANITIZING

Everyone is encouraged to sanitise their hands before and after their treatments. Hospital grade sanitizer will be available at front desk and in each room.

APPOINTMENT BOOKING

We are allowing more time in between appointment and staggering our practitioners. This is to avoid crowding in the waiting room. You may be asked to wait in your car and we will call you to enter for your appointment.

CANCELLING APPOINTMENTS

Cancel you appointment if you are experiencing any cold / flu like symptoms. Cancellation fees will not be applied however we would appreciate 24 hours’ notice.*

USE OF FACILITES

Until further notice the use of our change rooms, relaxation lounge and infrared saunas will be closed.

There will be restricted use of washrooms.

All our staff are thoroughly trained to execute protocol.
